Over 55.. GW player.. living in Austin.. Sounds pretty rare.

Anywayz, I am in my mid 20s and my 55-ish dad got me into gaming when I was like 4. I haven't seen him excited about gaming since the days of Commodore and Pole Position and Ms PacMan though. Maybe after he retires I can get him hooked on something. Probably it will be something crappy like WoW.. and I will have to be like OMG NUB PLAY GW

I'll be 55 next month and I'm addicted to GW, and several other RPGs too. I've managed to get my entire family hooked on GW which is fantastic because I can meet up with them online and chat or play or whatever, GW has brought my family even closer. Unfortunately I am in the UK so I'm not going to be getting any visits, but for you young uns out there, there are more of us old fogeys online than you would imagine. Grow old gracefully? Nah, I intend to grow old as disgracefully as I possibly can.

AHHH! I live in Austin but I'm a few years short of 55. 36 short, to be precise. Gaile, you sure they won't take me instead?

Any idea when this will be aired? I live in the San Antonio area (about an hour away from Austin) and listen to NPR often. I'm too young to participate, but I would hear this when it's aired.

Thanks for all the posts. I have a couple of PMs and we may have someone who can help out, but I'd simply love to have more possibilities to pass to PR at the Austin offices of NCsoft. (They are the originator of the request.)

When I started reading it, I was thinking "Hey, they can come to my house. How many 108-year-old female gamers can there be?"

Anyway, if anyone else might fit the bill -- and I'm going to say that we would likely consider anyone 50+ -- then please do PM me.

I don't know about the air date, but I will find out and let you guys know.

Hi,
I meet the required age (actually, I'm past 60), live in Austin, and would be glad to be interviewed. I play GW just about every day, and usually log on in the early evening to meet and play with a friend from Australia.
We are, in fact, both senior citizens, LOL. Anyway, we communicate via Skype while we're playing, so there's lots of talking, laughing, and shared "thrills and chills" in adventuring.

Oh, bless you, I try. It's that steady diet of Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, bagels, and chocolate, I'm sure. *snicker*

Now, those of you with possible Austin-area contacts, please send me a PM so that we can discuss this. I will need the name, age, address, and telephone number for contact by our PR folks. I would benefit from a character name, but that's why I want to discuss this via PM. If it's you you're writing about, great. If not, please let that person know to PM me and I'll give contact information back to him/her.

Thanks so much!

I'm 51 and in my first childhood. Didn't have it when I was a kid. It's way better to have it now tho. As another poster said, I can buy my own games and I don't have to share. I'm in PA tho.....darn it.

Interesting, like said before there are way more "older" players playing then we can imagine.

Offtopic: Nothing beats the fan with 9 accounts.

Hi Gaile.
I am one of the older players in OAK, Order of Ascalonian Knights, but I am just 43. We do have 2 players in our Guild that are over 55; freinds living near each other in Illinios. they are Henry Paul, and Victoria Virulent.
I met them in Pre Searing and invited them to join this cool guild I just joined, and they did when they got to Post.

hopefully this will help you out.

Hi Gaile;

I'm 60+ and have played computer games for 30+ years.

I'm retired, live in Minnesota, and play GW 6+ hours per day. Both of my sons (30+) also play it and we play together whenever they have time.

Anytime you need an older player's point of view, send me a note.
